Tried & Tested | Magnitone London Daily Cleansing Brush + Demo Video

It's no secret that I am a firm believer and advocate of exfoliation. As someone with oily and acne prone skin, I was taught early on in the game that regular exfoliation was the key to unlocking smoother, healthier, clearer skin. Regular exfoliation for me, worked absolute wonders (thank you glycolic acid). So it comes as sort of a surprise to me, that out of all people, was so SO late to join the cleansing exfoliating brush bandwagon. Blame it on my preference for chemical exfoliation or my reluctance to try something out of my comfort zone (why try and fix something that isn't broken, right?), but I only recently welcomed an exfoliating brush to my regular skincare routine - shocker I know.

The cleansing brush in question is the Magnitone London Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush*, along with The Stimulator Lift + Tone Massage Replacement Head*, that I had the pleasure to try out (and finally catch up with the times) thanks to SkincareStore. Promising not only a deep pore cleansing action, but smoother, brighter, refined and tightened skin - I was hooked line and sinker.

What makes the Magnitone London Cleansing Brush so unique are two key things:
1. It utilises innovative Vibra-Sonic technology, which combines energising sonic oscillations and electromagnetic pulsed vibrations to boost micro-circulation and tone the skin, resulting in plump skin tone and a healthy-looking glow - aka. some really awesome technology to give you silky smooth skin
2. It uses a PulseLift Toning mode in conjunction with it's regular cleansing action to give the skin an extra 'work out.'

Sounds pretty darn fancy right? Off the bat, this cleansing brush is quite lightweight and just a tad bigger than the span of my hand. I was given a gorgeous mint green colour, which I probably wouldn't have chosen for myself (I am a pink girl through and through!) but it's still a lovely shade none the less. The brush head that comes with the brush is quite soft to touch and claims to be able to be used on all skin types.

The Magnitone London Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush includes the regular features that you can expect from a cleansing brush - has a built in timer with 20 second intervals, is cordless, has the ability to be used in the shower, is travel friendly with a wireless USB charger and is compatible with other Magnitone London brush heads. The big different for me is that it two modes (that I mentioned above) - one for regular daily cleanse and the second more deeper cleaning pulsing action.

As someone who has little to no experience with many cleansing brushes, I surprisingly found this incredibly easy to use. Honestly, I don't know what I thought I was supposed to do or what was going to happen but I was expecting it to be a whole lot trickier than what it was, for whatever reason! I started off by using this in the evening after doing my first oil cleanse to remove all my make-up, following up with the brush with my usual gel cleanser. The whole experience lasts for about 1 minute, with 20 second intervals to remind you to move on to other areas of the face. The feeling is so darn pleasant on the skin that I sometimes contemplated doing another round, but I have feeling that would start to boarder on over-exfoliation territory! As for the 'pulsing action,' I found it to be quite a nice sensation on the skin, that was again quite gentle but still effective in giving a really deep cleanse.

To finish off my routine, I would switch up the brush head for the Lift and Tone Massage Head. Made with silicone rubber nodules, this worked really well to not only give my complexion a light massage and increase circulation, but also help in the absorption of any facial serums, moisturises or oils applied to my skin after cleansing - you can watch a quick video my evening routine below!

The verdict? The results show on how different (different in a good way!) my skin is looking and feeling after using this for an extended period of time. Straight after cleansing I can already notice a HUGE difference in the texture of my skin. It is noticeably smoother and more refined, and just has a really lovely overall glow about it. After using this on alternate evenings for a week, my skin was 1000% more clearer than it usually is, feels a whole lot less congested, and dare I say it, a whole lot less oily - something I thought I would never in my life say! I really loved the way my skin looked and felt after using this, and even my make-up the following day would apply much more smoothly.

As someone who has never seen it as 'essential' to own a cleansing brush, I can now say that I wish I had caught on to the trend a whole lot earlier! Just looking at the left over make-up residue on the brush head after cleansing is enough to make me internally vomit and squrim thinking how that could have still been stuck in my pores after all this time. This Magnitone London Cleansing Brush has easily become a staple item in my routine, and I am not quite sure what I would do without it now! Just call me a cleansing brush convert!

You can grab your own Magnitone London Vibra-Sonic Daily Cleansing Brush from SkincareStore, as well as the rest of the Magnitone London range.

  3. Sounds fantastic! I've been fighting texture and so far chemical exfoliants are really helping, but perhaps I should look into a cleansing brush. Great post x
